Spring is such a great time for fresh produce. From fruits to vegetables, the choices are plentiful. And stone fruits in particular make me extra happy. Once they start hitting the market I want to add them to everything I can get my hands on. Plum oatmeal, peachy brown rice pudding, a crisp or crumble, you name it. Here I took some perfectly ripe peaches and pureed them with fresh english peas for baby sister. She ate it with all the joy and delight her cute little 7-month old face had.
*You can also use frozen peaches and peas for this recipe. Whatever is easier for you – you will still introduce your little one to a sweet and nutritional treat.
- 10 oz. frozen or fresh peas
- 2 large peaches, pitted and diced
- 1 large banana, peeled
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- ⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- Steam the peas and peaches on the stovetop for about 5 minutes or until cooked through. Add all ingredients to a food processor. Puree until smooth, adding a little of the steaming water until desired consistency is reached.
